Allison B. Goldfine M.D.

Dr. Goldfine received the Harvard Medical School Center of Excellence in Women's Health Research Grant in the years 1999 and 2000. She also received the Priscilla White Fellowship in 2002, a Career Development Award from the American Diabetes Association in 2006, and a Mentorship Award from the American Diabetes Association in 2013, where she has served on the Practice Guideline Committee and now Chairs the Clinical Research Grant review section. She recently served on the Endocrine and Metabolic Drugs Advisory Committee to the Food and Drug Administration.

Dr. Goldfine's research investigations focus on clinical and molecular translational projects related to insulin action beta cell function, and development of type 2 diabetes. Her current work focuses on proof of concept studies for new drugs for treatment and prevention of diabetes, and ways in which bariatric surgery mediates metabolic improvements for patients with diabetes.
